Tour Description
Your adventure begins with pickup at your accommodation between 6:00 and 6:30 a.m., as we set off toward one of the most breathtaking landscapes of the Chilean Altiplano.
During the journey, we’ll pass through the picturesque town of Toconao, make a brief stop at the Tropic of Capricorn, and continue on to Socaire, where you can enjoy unique views and take photos of the incredible desert landscapes.
We will then ascend to an altitude of 4,200 meters to visit the Salar de Aguas Calientes area, known for its reddish rock formations, known as Piedras Rojas. Here you can appreciate a magical setting, surrounded by turquoise lagoons and Andean mountains.
The next stop will be at the Miscanti and Miñiques Altiplanic Lagoons, where our guide will explain the native flora and fauna, as well as the geological features that make this one of the most iconic places on the Altiplano.
Finally, we will visit Laguna Chaxa, in the heart of the Salar de Atacama, the natural habitat of Andean, Chilean, and James’s flamingos—a natural spectacle you will never forget.
We will conclude our tour by returning to San Pedro de Atacama around 5:00 p.m.
